How to fix Pro-Form Treadmill when the power does not turn on?

  First, ensure the power cord of your Pro-Form Treadmill is securely plugged into a properly earthed outlet. If you need an extension cord, use a 3-conductor, 14-gauge (1 mm[2]) cord no longer than 5 ft (1.5 m). Also, after plugging in the power cord, check that the key is fully inserted into the console. If it still doesn't work, examine the power switch on the treadmill frame near the power cord. If the switch protrudes, it has tripped. To reset it, wait five minutes, then press the switch back in.

  If your Pro-Form Treadmill turns off during use, check the power switch. If it has tripped, wait five minutes, then press it back in. Make sure the power cord is properly plugged in; if it is, unplug it, wait five minutes, and plug it back in. Also, try removing and reinserting the key from the console. If these steps don’t resolve the issue, no answer.

Why does the walking belt slip on my Pro-Form Treadmill?

  If the walking belt on your Pro-Form Treadmill slips when you walk on it, use the hex key to turn both idler roller screws clockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 inches off the walking platform. Then, plug in the power cord, insert the key, and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes to test it.

  If the walking belt on your Pro-Form Treadmill slows down when you walk on it, it might be overtightened. Remove the key and unplug the power cord. Use the hex key to turn both idler roller screws counterclockwise, 1/4 of a turn. Your treadmill has a walking belt coated with high-performance lubricant. Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform unless instructed to do so by an authorized service representative, as these substances may deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear. If you suspect that the walking belt needs more lubricant, no answer.

Why do the console displays stay on after removing the key from my Pro-Form 520 Zlt Treadmill?

  If the displays on your Pro-Form Treadmill remain lit when you remove the key, the demo mode is likely turned on. To turn off the demo mode, hold down the Stop button for a few seconds. If the displays are still lit, no answer.
