algorithm(ortechnique)isrequired.Calciumbatteriesarealsoaffectedwhendeeply
dischargedorusedheavily.TheyneedtoberechargedbyaCalciumchargertofully
rechargethebatteryandtomaximizethebattery’slifeandperformance.
Q. What is a Calcium battery?
A.Calciumbatteriesareleadacidbatteriesthathavehadcalciumaddedtothe
leadplates,eithertooneplate(calledCalciumHybrid)ortobothplates(called
Calcium–Calcium).
Theaddedcalciumprovidesanumberofbenefits:
i. LowerinternalresistancewhichprovidesasmallincreaseinCCAperformance.
ii.Theabilitytowithstandhigherenginebaytemperatures.
iii.Lowselfdischargerate,whichincreasestheshelflife,typically4timeslonger
thanaLead–Leadbattery.
