How to hot-swap failed drives in QNAP TS 31P2 Storage?
- MMary LoweryAug 10, 2025
To replace a failed drive in your QNAP storage, log in to QTS and navigate to 'Main Menu > Storage Manager > Storage > Disks/VJBOD'. Find the failed drive, get a new hard drive with equal or greater capacity, physically remove the failed drive from the NAS, wait about 20 seconds (or until you hear two beeps), take the failed drive out of its tray, put the new drive in the tray, install it, and then check that the status shows 'Rebuilding'.
