E. High Ash Fuel Content Maintenance
• Frequency: Daily
• By: Homeowner
If the ash build-up exceeds the half way point in the re pot
or if clinkers are adhering to the sides of the re pot, the re
pot oor is not being cycled enough.
WARNING
Risk of Fire and Smoke!
• High ash fuels or lack of maintenance can
cause re pot to overll. Follow proper
shutdown procedure if ash buildup exceeds
half way point in re pot.
• Failure to do so could result in smoking,
sooting and possible hopper res.

F. Ba󰀪e Removal
1. The appliance must be in complete shutdown,
completely cool and the exhaust blower o󰀨.
2. Open door.
3. The ba󰀪e is located at the top inside of rebox.
4. Remove ba󰀪e by placing a at head screw driver into
the slot of the latches located in the upper corners and
rotate down. The bottom of the latch will fall forward o󰀨
of the post. Lift the ba󰀪e up and then out toward you
(Figure 19.2).
5. To replace the ba󰀪e, place the 2 locating ears behind
the bottom edge and tilt the ba󰀪e up and into place.
6. The ba󰀪e must be centered in the rebox before
latching it in place. If it is not centered the latch will slip
between the ba󰀪e and side of the rebox instead of
latching properly.
7. The bottom of the latches will t over the posts. Using
a screwdriver, rotate the top of the latch up to lock latch
into place.
G. Glass Replacement
1. Swing open the face and remove the door from the
appliance by lifting the door o󰀨 of the hinge pins and
lay on a at surface face down.
2. Using a Phillips head screw driver, remove 4 screws, 2
on the top and 2 on the bottom. Remove metal bracket
and then remove the glass (Figure 19.3).
3. Replace with new glass with gasket.
4. Re-attach metal bracket with 4 screws.
5. Re-install door over hinge pins and close face.
WARNING
Cast iron is a very heavy material.
The ba󰀪e is made of cast iron and therefore is
heavy and awkward at times to maneuver. Clear
and prepare your work area before you begin.
• Glass is 5mm thick high temperature heat-
resistant ceramic glass.
• DO NOT REPLACE with any other material.
• Alternate material may shatter and cause
injury.
