REAR–FACING
3. Tighten the vehicle seat belt.
Press down rmly in the center of
the car seat. To tighten, pull on the
loose end of the vehicle lap belt.
4. Test for tightness. Grab the seat
at the rear-facing belt path. Try to
move the car seat side-to-side and
front-to-back with the force of a rm
handshake. If the seat moves less
than 1 in (2.5 cm), it is tight enough.
DO NOT test by grasping the top
or back of the car seat.
