What to do if there is no or low pressure at the outlet of my Rain Soft Water System?
    • A
      Amber HaysAug 4, 2025
If your Rain Soft Water System has no or low pressure at the outlet, first, ensure the water supply is turned on. If it is on, check for any blockages in the water supply line and clear them. If the blockage is internal to the Hydrefiner II or external with the water line, contact your Rainsoft Dealer. Also, the sediment cartridge may be fouled, in that case replace the sediment cartridge and contact your Rainsoft Dealer for new filters. Lastly, inspect the incoming water line for crimps or pinches and remove any obstructions.

Why does my Rain Soft Hydrefiner II Water System produce “milky” colored water or ice cubes?
    • C
      Courtney JohnsonAug 10, 2025
If your Rain Soft Water System produces water or ice cubes with a milky color, it could be due to small air bubbles, which do not affect the system's performance. Another cause could be air trapped inside the filter housing; in this case, open the faucet and let the water run for 3 to 5 minutes after installation and filter changes. High concentrations of total dissolved solids (TDS) can also cause cloudiness. To address this, consider reducing the TDS concentration using deionization, distillation, or reverse osmosis. Note that this system has not been tested or approved for TDS reduction.

Why does my Rain Soft Water System smell like rotten eggs?
    • J
      Jose WalkerAug 22, 2025
If your Rain Soft Water System produces a rotten egg odor, it typically indicates the presence of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas in the water. Treat the water for hydrogen sulfide reduction and replace the filter cartridge. Note: This system has not been tested or approved for hydrogen sulfide reduction.

What to do if my Rain Soft Hydrefiner II has an odor with color on the filter cartridge?
    • T
      Tonya MillerAug 27, 2025
If your Rain Soft Water System exhibits an odor along with color on the filter cartridge, it may be due to hydrogen sulfide (H2S) caused by iron (orange/blackish color) and/or decaying organisms (slimy; blotchy colors). Have your water tested for iron and/or sulfur bacteria. If present, seek professional advice on proper well cleaning, disinfection, or treatment. If no iron/sulfur bacteria are detected, treat the water for hydrogen sulfide reduction using an appropriate device. Note that this system has not been tested or approved for the reduction of iron bacteria, sulfur bacteria, or hydrogen sulfide.
