WhilsttheWi-Fiperformancehasbeentestedandproveninmanydifferentinstallationscenarios,the
requirementsbelowmustbetak
enintoconsiderationbeforechoosingalocationfortheQuantum
™
Radar.
InsystemswithmultipleMFDs,theR adarshouldbeconnectedtotheMFDsthatarelocatedclosest
toit,ortotheMFDswiththeclearestlineofsighttotheRadar.
ThemaximumdistancebetweenMFDandRadarwillvarydependingontheinstallationenvironment
(i.e.obstructionsandinterference).

Inoptimumopenair ,clearline-of-sightconditionsareliableconnectionispossibleatdistancesup
to100m(328ft).However,therearemanyfactorsthatcaninfluencethis,soapre-installationsite
surveyshouldalwaysbeperformed.ForreliableWi-Fiperformancethesignalstrengthshouldbe
betterthan–75dBm.ThecloserthesignalistozerothebettertheWi-Fiperformancewillbe(e.g.
–40dBmisbetterthan–75dBm).Y oucanassessthepotentialsignalstrengthatthedesiredlocation
duringthePre-installationSiteSurveyusingaWi-FiAnalyzerapponyoursmartdevice.
