ObtainMMSI(MaritimeMobileServiceIdentity)number
BeforecommencinginstallationensureyouhaveobtainedaMMSInumberforyourvessel.
AMMSIisa9digitnumberwhichissentoveraradiofrequencychannelinordertoidentifythe
originatingvessel/station.IfyourvesselalreadyhasaMMSInumber(usedforaVHFDSCradio)then
thesameMMSInumbermustbeusedtoprogramyourproduct.
Note:
IfaMMSInumberisnotentered,theDSCfunctionalityofyourradiowillbedisabled.
IntheUnitedS tatesofAmerica,theMMSIandStaticDatamustbeenteredonlybyaRaymarine®
dealerorotherappropriatelyqualifiedinstallerofmarinecommunicationsequipmentonboard
vessels.
TheuserisNOTauthorizedtodothis.
Insomeareas,aradiooperatorlicenceisrequiredbeforeaMMSInumberwillbeissued.Youcan
requestaMMSInumberfromsameagencythatissuesradioorShipRadiolicencesinyourarea.
InEuropeandotherpartsoftheworldoutsideoftheUnitedStatesofAmerica,theMMSIandStatic
datacanbesetupbytheuser.
