4.1Locationrequirements
Whenplanningtheinstallationlocation,considerthefollowing:
•TheGPSreceiveriswaterproof,andappropriateforabovedecks
mounting.
•Choosealocationthatprovidesthemostunobstructedviewof
theskyinalldirections:
•DoNOTmounttheGPSreceiveratthetopofamast.
•TheGPSreceivershouldbemountedatleast1m(3ft)awayfrom
devicesthatmaycauseinterference,suchasmotors,generators,
VHFradiounitsandothertransmitters/receivers.
•EnsuretheGPSreceiverisNOTmountedinthepathofthebeam
emittedfromanyradarscannerunits.
GPSreceivermountingoptions
Thereare3differentmountingoptionsfortheGPSreceiver.
•Polemount.
•Flushmount.
•Railmount.
4.2PolemountingtheGPSreceiver
Polemountingrequiresapolewitha1inch14TPIthread.The
threadmustnotexceed20mminlength.
1.Securelyattachthepolemountbasetoasuitablepole.
2.Passthecableandconnectorthrougheither:
•2a)thecenterofthepolemountbracketandthepole;or
•2b)thecableexitholealongsidethecenterhole.
3.Attachtheconnectorsecurelytothepluginthebaseoftheunit.
4.Securethereceivertothepolemountbaseusingthescrews
provided.
