What to do if my Raypak Swimming Pool Heater keeps going on and off?
    • J
      Joyce PollardAug 18, 2025
If your Raypak Swimming Pool Heater cycles on and off continuously, several factors could be responsible. Check for a dirty filter and backwash it if necessary. Ensure the water level in your pool is adequate and raise it if it's low. The external bypass setting or the pressure switch might be out of adjustment, so try adjusting them.

What causes a pilot outage in a Raypak raytherm P-1125 Swimming Pool Heater?
    • K
      Kelly RodriguezAug 21, 2025
A pilot outage in your Raypak Swimming Pool Heater may be due to low gas pressure, which can be resolved by adjusting the gas pressure. Another cause might be a restricted pilot, which would require cleaning the pilot. A weak pilot generator could also be the problem, in which case you should replace the pilot.

How to fix a whining noise in my Raypak Swimming Pool Heater?
    • L
      leon16Aug 23, 2025
A whining noise, or harmonics, in your Raypak Swimming Pool Heater can stem from several causes. Check the U.G. for proper operation by placing it in hot water (110°F or higher); replace it if there's no movement. Look for and remove any debris or restrictions in the system, then flush and clean it. Also, check for debris in the gas line and remove it, or blow out the gas line. Low flow can also cause this issue, so clean the heat exchanger for scale and check the pool's pH and total alkalinity.

Why is my Raypak raytherm P-1125 sooting?
    • A
      Amanda BeltranAug 26, 2025
Sooting in your Raypak Swimming Pool Heater can occur due to several reasons. High flow rates can be a cause; reduce them by adding a manual bypass valve and adjust it using a thermometer in the header drain opening to read between 105° and 110°F. An inoperative U.G. can also cause sooting; check its movement in hot water (110°F or higher) and replace if necessary. Other potential causes include air starvation (refer to installation instructions), improper venting (follow recommended installation instructions), and insects or debris clogging the burner intake ports (clean the burners).

Why does my Raypak raytherm P-1125 have a yellow lazy flame?
    • D
      David HughesAug 28, 2025
A yellow, lazy flame in your Raypak Swimming Pool Heater can be caused by low gas pressure, which requires adjusting the gas pressure. Alternatively, insects or debris clogging the burner intake ports might be the issue, so cleaning the burners is recommended.

What to do if the outer jacket of my Raypak Swimming Pool Heater is very hot and the paint is blistered?
    • S
      Sabrina HoffmanAug 30, 2025
If the outer jacket of your Raypak Swimming Pool Heater is excessively hot and the paint is blistered, it could be due to a broken refractory caused by shipping damage or improper combustion, in which case you should replace the refractory panels. Another possible cause is excessive sooting of the heat exchanger, so determine the cause of the sooting and correct it.

What to do if the filter is not running long enough on my Raypak Swimming Pool Heater?
    • L
      Lori YoungSep 4, 2025
If the filter on your Raypak Swimming Pool Heater isn't running long enough, try resetting the time clock. It could also be due to a dirty filter, so cleaning the filter is recommended.
