Overview

This document provides a comprehensive guide for using the Reflex Active Series 14/15 smartwatch, covering setup, features, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Reflex Active smartwatch is designed to enhance daily life through various functionalities, including timekeeping, fitness tracking, communication, and lifestyle features.

Timekeeping and Display:

The watch displays time, date, and other relevant information on its LCD screen. Users can customize the watch face by long-pressing the home screen to view available dials or by using the Reflex Active RED app to download and sync new watch faces from the Dial Library. The app also allows users to set a photo from their phone's gallery as the watch face, adjusting the time position, what is shown above and below the time, and the text color. The display brightness can be adjusted through the settings menu.

Fitness Tracking:

The smartwatch automatically tracks several fitness metrics:

  • Steps: Utilizes multiaxis inertial sensors (accelerometers) to detect wrist movement and estimate steps. It's important to note that some wrist actions may falsely record steps, so the count should be used as a guide.
  • Heart Rate: The watch records heart rate data throughout the day when activated in settings. It's designed for recreational use and not for medical diagnosis or monitoring. The heart rate monitor periodically emits flashing lights, so users with epilepsy or similar conditions should consult a doctor before use.
  • Sleep: The watch tracks sleep patterns, including light and deep sleep, when worn during sleep.
  • Exercise Record: This feature tracks all sports activities, with data accessible through the app.
  • Multi-Sport Modes: The watch includes various exercise modes such as Walking, Running, Cycling, Skipping, Badminton, Basketball, Football, Tennis, and Climbing. Users can select an exercise type from the activity screen to start tracking. For GPS-enabled activities, the watch connects to the smartphone's GPS for improved accuracy and location tracking. During an activity, the watch displays time, heart rate, and calories burned, with the option to view heart rate status by swiping up. The app provides a map of the activity path and activity statistics.
  • Calories Burned: The watch helps calculate calories burned during training.

Communication Features:

The Reflex Active smartwatch offers Bluetooth calling, allowing users to make and receive calls directly from the watch without unlocking their phone.

  • Connecting for Calls: After connecting the watch to the Reflex Active RED app, users must pair the watch in their phone's Bluetooth settings (e.g., "Audio-Series 14" or "Audio-Series 15"). This enables the microphone and built-in speaker for calls, music, and notifications.
  • Making Calls: Users can access recent calls, a dial pad, and contacts from the phone function on the watch. Tapping the call button on the dial pad initiates a call.
  • Receiving Calls: When Bluetooth calling is active, the watch will ring and vibrate for incoming calls, allowing users to answer or reject them. Internet calls (e.g., WhatsApp) appear as notifications only.
  • Switching Between Phone and Watch: During an active call, users can switch the audio output between the watch and their phone by tapping the handset earpiece icon.
  • Contacts: Up to 8 contacts can be added to the watch via the "Favourite Contacts" section in the Reflex Active RED app, which then syncs to the watch.
  • Notifications: To receive notifications, "App Alerts" must be enabled in the Reflex Active RED app, and the watch and phone must remain connected. For iOS, the phone needs to be paired via Bluetooth. For Android, the app must run in the background. Notifications cause the watch to vibrate and display content, which can be viewed later by swiping up on the watch face.

Lifestyle Features:

  • Music Control: Users can control music playback, adjust volume, and view artist/track names on the watch screen.
  • Weather Forecast: The watch displays current and 6-day weather forecasts, synced from the app. Location selection is required in the app settings, and the phone must be connected for updates.
  • Shutter Control: The watch can remotely control the phone's camera, provided the phone is unlocked and connected.
  • Flashlight: An inbuilt flashlight function helps navigate in the dark.
  • Stopwatch: Users can start and stop a stopwatch to track activity timings.
  • Timer: A countdown timer allows users to set goals and time activities.
  • Smart Assistant: Tapping the icon wakes the phone's smart assistant, which can be controlled via the watch microphone (available on Series 15 only).
  • Find Device: When connected via Bluetooth, this feature vibrates the watch to help locate it.
  • Alarms: Up to 3 alarms can be set in the Reflex Active RED app and viewed/switched on/off on the watch.
  • Menstrual Cycle Tracking: Users can track their menstrual cycle, with reminders managed through the app.
  • Idle Alerts: Gentle reminders to move or drink water can be set via "Profile" > "Others" > "Reminder to Move" in the Reflex Active RED app.
  • Goal Notifications: The watch alerts users when their step goal is reached. This feature requires enabling "Goal Setting" in the Reflex Active RED app.

Usage Features

The watch can be navigated by swiping left/right and up/down on the screen.

  • Swipe Left/Right: Accesses features pages like phone functions, messages, and other apps.
  • Swipe Up/Down: Views messages, notifications, and settings.
  • Side Button: Press and hold to switch the watch on/off. Short press to return to the main dial page or turn the screen on/off.

Settings Menu:

The settings page offers various options:

  • Vibrations On/Off: Toggle vibrations to prevent interruptions.
  • Theatre Mode: Reduces brightness and turns off vibrations. Note: Call features must be switched off separately.

  • Low Battery: Charge the band when the battery is low.
  • Charge Time: A 2-hour charge is sufficient for a full charge; do not exceed this period.
  • Battery Life: The battery lasts 2-3 days with Bluetooth calling enabled, and approximately 5-7 days on standby.

Care Instructions:

  • Avoid Contact: Do not wear the smartwatch while applying sprays or creams. Avoid contact with corrosive agents (e.g., paint, solvents, adhesives) as they may affect the finish.
  • Water Exposure: The smartwatch is not suitable for swimming or showers; do not immerse it in water.
  • Strap Care: Environmental conditions can affect strap durability. Treat with care, limit exposure to direct heat or sunlight, and keep the watch dry. Avoid chemical cleaners, cosmetic products (e.g., fake tan, perfumes). Light soiling can be cleaned with a weak soapy water solution on a damp soft cloth. Be aware that light-colored straps are prone to color transfer from other materials.
  • Silicone Strap Care: Clean regularly with mild soap and water to remove dirt, oils, and lotions, ensuring the watch case does not get wet. Store in the gift box when not wearing.
  • Cleaning Intervals: Remove the smartwatch at regular intervals for gentle cleaning.
  • Skin Irritation: Some wearers may experience skin irritation if the smartwatch is worn for prolonged periods, especially if they have sensitive skin or allergies. Remove the smartwatch if irritation occurs. To prevent irritation, ensure regular cleaning and avoid over-tightening on the wrist.

Safety Information:

  • Battery: Do not attempt to replace, open, or disassemble the battery. The integrated rechargeable battery cannot be removed or replaced. Substances within the battery may harm the environment or cause injury if handled improperly. In case of contact with battery acid, flush the affected area with clean water and seek immediate medical attention.
  • Device: This is a Class A product; it may cause radio interference in domestic environments. Ensure correct engagement with charging contacts. Check for damage before each use. Not a toy; keep children from playing with it. Do not open the smartwatch. Protect from strong impacts, vibrations, direct sunlight, and dirt. Avoid heavy objects, pressure, and strong magnetic fields. Salt and thermal water can corrode metal parts. Remove before saunas. Do not operate near heat sources. Do not cover during operation or charging. Do not use on aeroplanes, in hospitals, or near medical electronic systems. Wireless signals may impact sensitive electronics. Do not use if the display is cracked or exposed to extreme temperatures. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Remove immediately if it feels warm or hot. Do not charge if wet. Avoid checking notifications while driving or in other hazardous situations.
  • Health: Smartwatches contain electromagnetic fields and magnets that may interfere with medical devices like pacemakers. Consult a doctor if using any medical device. The heart rate monitor is for recreational use only and not for medical diagnosis. It periodically emits flashing lights; consult a doctor if you have epilepsy. Heart rate readings can be affected by fit, wearer characteristics, and activity intensity. Consult a doctor before starting new exercise regimes. The watch tracks movement, sleep, and calories, but these estimations are not always fully accurate. Menstrual cycle tracking is for personal records only and not for conception assistance. Always consult a doctor for unusual symptoms.

Disposal:

Do not dispose of the product, batteries, or packaging in household waste. Dispose of at a civic amenity site or local authority recycling facility. Batteries require separate collection.
