3
ACTIONS TO AVOID
Using accelerator pedal to keep
the vehicle stationary on an uphill
slope while shifting the gear to R/D.
When stopping the vehicle on an
uphill grade, do not hold the vehicle
by pressing the accelerator pedal.
The foot brake pedal should be in
pressed condition.
Accelerating and overtaking
Slowly press the accelerator pedal
to accelerate gradually.
to obtain maximum vehicle perfor-
mance, press the accelerator pedal
quickly and completely.
the speed with which the acceler-
ator pedal is pressed is directly re-
lated to the speed with which the ve-
hicle automatically shifts to a lower
gear to accelerate quickly.
Depending on the variant, if the
warning message,''GEARBOX OVER-
HEAT" appears on the cluster when
driving, it means the clutch gets
overheated and creeping gets deac-
tivated.
To avoid getting the message,
use parking brake to move the ve-
hicle in slope;
do not press the brake pedal/ac-
celerator pedal simultaneously for
long time;
do not keep vehicle in standstill in
slope using accelerator pedal;
If you are not doing any of above
mentioned manoeuvers but the
warning message,"GEARBOX OVER-
HEAT" appears, then contact your
dealer.
Parking
To park the vehicle, first bring the ve-
hicle to stationary position.
If the road is flat, then rotate the
gear shifter to N and engage the
handbrake and switch off the igni-
tion to complete the parking ma-
noeuvre.
On a slope, it is recommended to
keep the gear shifter in R/D, engage
the handbrake and switch off the ig-
nition to complete the parking ma-
noeuvre.
Precautions in Drive mode
If the vehicle is kept stationary on
a slope for too long without applying
the brakes or handbrake, it will strain
the system and there is a risk that
the clutch will overheat.
In this case, an intermittent beeping
sound will indicate that the brake
pedal or hand brake needs to be ap-
plied.
Never leave the vehicle with the
engine running with gear engaged
condition.
A warning light related to brake
application will appear on the clus-
ter if brake/handbrake is not ap-
plied.
If engine ON and the vehicle is sta-
tionary, it is recommended to keep
the brake pedal in pressed condi-
tion.

ual transmission vehicle
