TYRE PRESSURE MONITIORING SYSTEM
3
Operating principle
When the ignition switch is in ON po-
sition, the low tyre pressure warning
light illuminates and then turned off,
This indicates that the low tyre pres-
sure warning system is operational.
Warning light
1
comes on to
alert the driver in the event of insuffi-
cient pressure (deflated wheel,
punctured tyre, malfunction, etc.).
Low tyre pressure warning
If the vehicle is being driven with low
tyre pressure
1
will illuminate.
When the low pressure warning light
illuminates you should stop and ad-
just the tyre pressure to the recom-
mended COLD tyre pressure. The low
tyre pressure warning light does not
automatically turned off when the
tyre pressure is adjusted. After the
tyre is inflated the recommended
pressure, the vehicle must be driven
at speeds above 25 km/h (16MPH) to
activate the tyre pressure monitor-
ing system and turn off the low tyre
pressure warning light.
TPMS Malfunction:
If the TPMS is not functioning prop-
erly the low tyre pressure warning
light no
1
will flash for approximately
1 minute when the ignition switch is
placed on position. The light will re-
main on after the 1 Minute along with
the electrical warning tell tale no
2
.
Operating conditions
In the following situations, the sys-
tem risk coming into action late or
not functioning correctly:
system not reset after reinflation
or any operation on the wheels.
system badly reset: different infla-
tion pressures from the recommend-
ed pressures.
significant change in load or distri-
bution of load on one side of the ve-
hicle.
sporty driving with strong acceler-
ation.
driving on snowy or slippery sur-
face
driving with snow chains.
fitting a single new tyre.
use of tyres not approved by the
network.
This function is an ad-
ditional driving aid.
The function does not
take the place of the
driver. It cannot, therefore, un-
der any circumstances replace
the vigilance or the responsibili-
ty of the driver.
Check the tyre pressures, in-
cluding the emergency spare
wheel, once a month.
Resetting the standard level for the
tyre pressures
It must be carried out while the vehi-
cle is stopped:
after each reinflation or readjust-
ment of the pressure of one of the
tyres.
when the standard tyre pressure
needs to be changed to adapt to us-
age conditions (empty, carrying a
load, motorway driving, etc.).
after changing a wheel.
after using the tyre inflation kit.
