What to do if Reznor X pilot lights but the main valve won't open (spark ignition)?
    • I

If the pilot light in your Reznor Furnace ignites, but the main valve refuses to open, here's what you can check: * Make sure the manual valve is fully open. * If 24 volts is measured at the valve connections and the valve remains closed, replace the defective valve. * Inspect all wiring connections, and tighten any loose connections. * Ensure the flame sensor lead isn't grounded, and the insulation or ceramic isn't cracked; replace as needed. * Set the supply pressure at 5" w.c. to 8" w.c. for natural gas and 11" w.c. for propane if the gas pressure is incorrect. * Replace the sensor if the ceramic is cracked. * If all checks indicate no other cause, replace the faulty ignition controller.

Why is my Reznor X delivering cold air on startup or during operation?
    • C
      Crystal HurstAug 11, 2025
There are several reasons why your Reznor Furnace might be delivering cold air: * The fan control may be improperly wired; connect it according to the wiring diagram. * The fan control may be defective, requiring replacement. * The manifold pressure may be incorrect; check the manifold line pressure. * The blower may be set for too low a temperature rise; slow down the blower or increase static pressure.

What to do if my Reznor Furnace pilot won't light (match-lit system)?
    • J
      jenniferhaynesAug 15, 2025
If the pilot light of your Reznor Furnace with a match-lit system won't light, consider the following: * Ensure the manual valve is open. * Bleed the gas line to remove any air. * Clean the pilot orifice with compressed air or solvent, being careful not to ream it. * Check and adjust the gas supply pressure. * Replace any bent or kinked pilot tubing. * Replace the ECO device if it has failed.

Why is my Reznor Furnace not producing heat even when it's operating?
    • P
      palmerwyattAug 20, 2025
If your Reznor Furnace is running but not producing heat, consider these potential causes: * Dirty filters in the blower system can restrict airflow; clean or replace them. * Incorrect manifold pressure or orifices can affect combustion; check the manifold pressure. * The unit might be cycling on the limit control; check air throughput. * The thermostat might be improperly located or adjusted; consult the thermostat manufacturer's instructions. * The belt might be slipping on the blower; adjust the belt tension.

How to fix Reznor X pilot that won't light with spark ignition?
    • D
      danielrichOct 30, 2025
If the pilot light of your Reznor Furnace with spark ignition system won't light, there are several potential causes and solutions: * Ensure the manual valve is open. * Bleed the gas line to remove any air. * Clean the pilot orifice with compressed air or solvent, being careful not to ream it. * Check and adjust the gas supply pressure. * Replace any kinked pilot tubing. * If 24 volts are available at the pilot valve, replace the valve if it doesn't open. * Ensure all wire connections are secure. * Verify that 24 volts are available, and if not, address the transformer failure. * Maintain the spark gap at 7/64". * Replace any worn or grounded spark cable. * Replace the pilot if the ceramic spark electrode is cracked or grounded. * Ensure all panels are tightly secu...

What to do if Reznor X pilot lights but main valve won't open (match-lit system)?
    • S
      Stephanie CarneyNov 25, 2025
If the pilot light of your Reznor Furnace with a match-lit system ignites, but the main valve won't open, check the following: * Ensure the manual valve is open. * Verify that the power is on, check the fuses, and ensure the thermostat is calling for heat. * Check the wiring and connections at the transformer and thermostat to ensure the circuit to the valve is not open. * Replace the transformer if it's faulty. * Clean and test the thermocouple or safety pilot switch, or test the ECO device; replace any defective parts. * Replace the thermostat if it's faulty. * Replace the valve or magnetic head if the valve is faulty. * Ensure the gas pressure is not too high; the maximum supply gas pressure should be 8 oz. or 14" w.c. * Correct any venting problems and reset the swit...
