What to do if my Rinnai RHFE-559FT burner doesn’t ignite?
    • X
      xpetersonAug 16, 2025
If the Rinnai Heater burner doesn't ignite, first ensure the gas is turned 'ON' at the meter. Also, make sure the 'ON' Timer isn't set or cancel it by pressing the override button, and verify the Child Lock is not active by canceling it. Check if the air filter is blocked and clean it weekly. Clear any obstruction from the flue terminal or louvre. If it is a new installation, the air in the gas pipe should be purged by the installer. For a blocked gas filter, gas escape, or disconnected flue manifold, contact Rinnai for a service call.

What to do if Rinnai RHFE-559FT burner doesn’t ignite?
    • T
      theresa90Aug 19, 2025
If the burner doesn't ignite, several factors could be at play. Ensure the gas is turned 'ON' at the meter and that the 'ON' Timer is not set, or cancel it, or press the override button. Also, the Function/Child Lock should be canceled. The air filter should be cleaned weekly. Check for obstructions in the flue terminal or louvre and clear them. Note that for initial installations, air in the gas pipe may be the cause, and it should be purged by the installer. In some cases, mis-ignition could be the reason, so check customer instructions. If the flue manifold is not connected or there's a gas escape or the gas filter is blocked, a service call to Rinnai is required.

If your heater isn't powering on and the combustion indicator isn't lit, make sure the power cord is properly plugged in. Then, press the control panel ‘ON‘/ ‘OFF’ button. Also, check for a power cut; if there was one, re-ignite the heater manually after power is restored.
