As a source of general reference, the following table lists the options available when programming an Pro-24
installation. Except for this reference, this section will concern itself only with such programming from an LCD
Keypad
only.
PROGRAMMING METHODS
LOCALLY (at the panel) REQUIREMENTS
from any LCD Keypad (covered in this manual)
the keypad must be DIP switch programmed
and wired to the Pro-24
power must be applied to the Pro-24
from a portable computer

the PC must be IBM

-compatible
RISCO Group's Upload/Download Software)
must be installed
the Bus Adapter (p/n RP296EBA) cable and
plug must be connected between a serial
(COM) port on the PC and the Pro-24’s “J1”
connector–or the equivalent connection
* on the 4-wire BUS
via the Program Transfer Module (p/n RP296EE), a
tiny circuit board into which a copy of a panel’s
programmed configuration is stored–from which it
may later be transferred to any installation when
temporarily plugged into its 4-wire bus
see page 3-87 for detailed instructions) on the use of
