Propane Cooktop
The propane cooktop needs fresh air for its safe operation. (Picture 27.1) Make sure to open a window
and turn on the overhead fan for proper ventilation. The igniters are powered by 12-volt coach battery
power, so turn the battery disconnect switch on before using the propane cooktop. For detailed
information on this appliance consult the cooktop Owner's manual.
Hot Water
Your Roadtrek is equipped with a propane fired tankless water heater. (Picture 27.3) The heater has
no tank and operates on demand. At low flows water may be hot, while at high flows water may be
cooler. This is normal. When you turn on the water heater you will not hear it fire up. It only ignites
when it senses a water demand. The control is located on the inside wall of the cabinet. (Picture 27.2)
Refer to your Girard water heater manual for details of operation.
The three valves in bypass configuration are for assembly testing and maintenance purposes.
They should not be operated in normal use, even during winterizing.
Refer to the Girard water heater manual for specific instructions on operating as this unit
operates differently from a typical 6 gal. water heater.
