Why does the bass range sound odd, or why is there a vibrating resonance on my Roland Musical Instrument?
    • A
      Alan MckenzieSep 12, 2025
When listening through speakers: Playing at loud volumes may cause instruments near the KR-7/5 to resonate. Resonance can also occur with fluorescent light tubes, glass doors, and other objects. In particular, this problem occurs more easily when the bass component is increased, and when the sound is played at higher volumes. Use the following measures to suppress such resonance: * Place speakers so they are 10–15 cm from walls and other surfaces. * Reduce the volume. * Move the speakers away from any resonating objects.

Why is a High-pitched whine produced by my Roland KR-5 Musical Instrument?
    • T
      Taylor CookSep 10, 2025
When listening through headphones: Some of the more flamboyant and effervescent piano tones feature an ample high-end component, which may make the sound appear to have metallic reverberation added. Since this reverberation becomes particularly audible when supplemented by heavy reverb, you may be able to diminish the problem by reducing the amount of reverb applied to the sound. When listening through speakers: Here, a different cause (such as resonance produced by the KR-7/5) would be suspect.

    Jennifer MclaughlinSep 8, 2025
Why, in the upper range, does the sound change abruptly beyond a certain key on my Roland KR-5 Musical Instrument?
    • D
      David RiveraSep 8, 2025
On an acoustic piano, notes in the upper one and a half octaves of the keyboard continue to sound until they decay naturally, regardless of the damper pedal. There is a difference in the timbre as well. Roland pianos faithfully simulate such characteristics of the acoustic piano.
  • S
    Scott MarshallSep 7, 2025
Why is reverberation still audible even with Reverb turned off on my Roland KR-5?
    • P
      Philip PottsSep 7, 2025
Since the KR-7/5’s piano sounds faithfully reproduce the sense of spaciousness and reverberation of an actual acoustic piano’s sound, a certain amount of reverberation is still perceivable, even with the reverb effect deactivated.

What to do if no sound is heard from my Roland KR-5?
    • M
      mercerbobbyAug 23, 2025
If you're not getting any sound from your Roland Musical Instrument, here are a few things to check: * Ensure the volume level of the KR-7/5 or any connected devices isn't turned all the way down. * Make sure headphones aren't plugged in. * Verify the Balance knob hasn't been moved completely to the right or left, and the volume isn't set to “0” using the Part Balance. * Confirm all sliders in the Equalizer screen aren't at the minimum level. * Check if the footage has been adjusted so that all frequency components aren’t sounded.

Why doesn’t a note stop playing on my Roland Musical Instrument?
    • J
      jennifermontgomerySep 5, 2025
If a note doesn’t stop playing on your Roland Musical Instrument, check if the Chord Tone and Bass Tone have been changed. Some Chord Tone and Bass Tone notes may be sounded continuously.
  • T
    tyler37Sep 4, 2025
Why is the tuning or pitch of the keyboard or song off on my Roland KR-5 Musical Instrument?
    • R
      Richard AndersonSep 4, 2025
If the tuning or pitch of the keyboard or song is off on your Roland Musical Instrument, check if you have set transpose. Also, verify that the settings for the “Temperament” and “Stretch Tuning” are correct.
  • C
    Carlos Lara PhDSep 3, 2025
Why are not all played notes sounded on my Roland KR-5 Musical Instrument?
    • A
      Anita WallerSep 3, 2025
If not all played notes are sounding on your Roland Musical Instrument, it may be because the maximum number of notes that the KR-7 can play simultaneously is 128, and the KR-5 can play is 64. Frequent use of the damper pedal during automatic accompaniment or when playing along with a song on floppy disk may result in performance data with too many notes, causing some notes to drop out.
  • K
    Kristin CampbellSep 2, 2025
What to do if I cannot use a connected MIDI device and computer simultaneously with my Roland KR-5?
    • S
      Sabrina CrossSep 2, 2025
You cannot use MIDI connectors and the computer connector at the same time on your Roland Musical Instrument. When a MIDI device is connected to the MIDI connector, ensure that the computer switch is set to “MIDI”. When a computer is connected to the Computer connector, set the switch to either “MAC,” “PC-1,” or “PC-2.”
  • J
    John PopeAug 31, 2025
Why is the volume level of the instrument connected to Input jacks too low on my Roland KR-5 Musical Instrument?
    • L
      Laura BrownSep 1, 2025
If the volume level of the instrument connected to the input jacks is too low on your Roland Musical Instrument, check these items: * Make sure you are using a connection cable that does not contain a resistor. * Verify that the external display is properly connected. * Ensure the external display’s power is turned on. * Confirm you are using a display that is compatible with the KR.
