Shutter Release Button
e shutter release button has 2 stages when pressed. A light and
measured press will register a “half-press”, where the button travels
only half-way, which triggers the autofocus. A rm press of the button
will go beyond the half-press and all the way down, which triggers the
shutter.
Half-Press: Press slightly down to trigger the autofocus, which will
lock-in on the subject featured at the centre spot of the frame. Holding
the half-press will keep the focus distance locked, whilst you can
reframe the shot. e focus lock will be released once the half-press is
released. Rollei 35AF utilises LiDAR for focusing, so avoid obstructing
the autofocus sensor when focusing.
Full-Press: Press rmly all the way down to take a photo.
Film Advancement: Aer pressing the shutter release button to take a
shot, you will need to fully rotate the advance lever to proceed to the
next frame. If you fail to fully advance the frame, the shutter button
will not reset or pop back up, preventing you from taking another
picture.
