Introduction
This guide is for system administrators and installers of the Ross Video ULTRIX-MODX-IO and its
modules. This guide contains the following chapters that cover the installation and configuration of
your blade and its modules:
• “Introduction” summarizes the guide and provides important terms, and conventions.
• “Getting Started” provides an overview for
• “Hardware Overview” provides an introduction to the ULTRIX-MODX-IO hardware features.
• “Installing the ULTRIX-MODX-IO” provides instructions for the basic physical installation of the
ULTRIX-MODX-IO into an Ultrix router.
• “Power Connection” outlines how to connect an external power supply to the ULTRIX-MODX-IO
blade. Note that this is an optional step and only required if advised by Ross Technical Support.
• “Installing a Module” provides a general summary of how to install a module into an
ULTRIX-MODX-IO blade.
• “Populating an SFP Port” outlines how to install an SFP module into a port on the
ULTRIX-MODX-IO blade and its modules.
• “ULTRIX-MOD-SFP” provides an overview of the hardware features, installation, and cabling of
the ULTRIX-MOD-SFP module.
• “Configuration” outlines how to configure the ports using the DashBoard interface.
• “Technical Specifications” provides the specifications, such as pinouts and power consumption,
for the ULTRIX-MODX-IO.
