Multiple Heat Pumps
For a system that has more than one heat pump, each unit will need it’s own flow and return, this is easily done by using a hydraulic separator i.e. a buffer,
header or with two heat exchangers.
Operation
The temperature of the hot water is controlled with the cylinder sensor and the supplied controller.
• Thetemperatureofthehotwateriscontrolledwiththecylindersensorandthesuppliedcontroller.
• Thecontrollerhasabuiltintimeclockcontrolandhasbothdailyandweeklysterilisationfunctionsforlegionella.
• Thesystemisabletobesetupasopenventedorpressurised.
• Thecoilwithinthecylindermustbedesignedforusewithaheatpumpwithasurfaceareaofatleast2.5m².
• Aswithmostcylinders,itispossibletoconnectaPVsystemtotheimmersionheaterstoreducecosts.Abatterystoragesystemisalsoagreat
waytohelpwiththis.
• Theheatingsystemiscontrolledviaathermostat/timeclockthatiswiredbacktotheinternalcontrolboard(MIM).
• Eachheatingzonewillbecontrolledbyitsownthermostatortimer,thereisnolimittothenumberofheatingzonesthatcanbeconnected
ontothissystem.Thissystemisshownwithtwoheatingzones.Eachthermostatdrivesadedicatedzonevalve,thisinturnwillcontrolthe
circulationpumpandsendarunsignalbacktotheunit(s).
• Whilsttheheatpumpisrunning,itwillbeconstantlyadjustingthewatertemperaturetosuittheambienttemperaturesandconditions.Thisis
theweathercompensationoftheunit.
• Unlikeaoneunitsetup,amultipleheatpumpsystemiscapableofheatingthehotwatercylinderandthepropertyatthesametime.
