TAPE DUBBING (DECK 1 to DECK 2)
Computer dubbing
For simple, automatic dubbing in one-half the time, compared to
normal speed dubbing.
Manual (normal speed) dubbing
For dubbing while listening to the playback from Deck 1.
Load the playback tape into Deck 1 and a blank tape into Deck 2.
It is recommended to use the same length cassettes in both decks for
the dubbing operation.
You may listen to any other function (CD, radio etc.) while using
computer dubbing.
COMPUTER DUBBING
Press the COMP. DUB switch.
The system performs the steps below and automatically starts Deck 1
playback and Deck 2 recording.
1. Deck 1: Tape rewinds.
2, Deck 2: Tape rewinds.
3. Deck 2: Erases the first few seconds of the tape, then rewinds again.
4. Deck 2: Automatically advances the tape past the leader.
The REC/PAUSEindicator blinks and the DECK 1 and

Automatic stop during computer dubbing
When Deck 1 tape is longer than Deck 2:

When Deck 2 stops automatically, Deck 1 enters the fast forward
mode.

When Deck 2 stops automatically, Deck 1 enters the fast forward
mode. When the end of side A is reached, computer dubbing contin-
ues from the beginning of side B.

When Deck 1 stops automatically, Deck 2 erases the tape to the end
of side A.

When Deck 1 stops automatically, Deck 2 erases the tape to the end
of side A. When the end of side A is reached, computer dubbing
continues from the beginning of side B.
Before pressing the COMP. DUB switch, check that both Decks 1 and
2 are in the stop mode.
Tostopdubbing, press the STOP switch. Thetapewill not stop during
computer dubbing if the REC/PAUSE switch is pressed.
Because computer dubbing is performed at high speed, normal
monitoring is not possible.
A high-pitched sound may be recorded if computer dubbing is used
near a TV which has been switched on. If this happens, switch off the
TV or place the system at a distance from the TV.
Computer dubbing must start from the selection 1 of side A. To start
dubbing from side B, or a position in the middle of the tape, use
manual dubbing.
MANUAL (normal speed) DUBBING
- Select “TAPE”.
Set the MODE switch to —
1. Deck 2: Locate the tape p%on where recording will begin.
2. Deck 1: Select PLAY

the selection of the tape to be dubbed.

Automatic stop during manual dubbing
If
Deck 1 or Deck 2 stops automatically, the other deck will also stop.
During dubbing operation, the DOLBY NR switch has no effect to the
copied tape.
