LISTENING TO THE RADIO
MEMORY OPERATION
This unit enables 12 stations FM1, FM2 and AM bands to be preset in the
memory.

Select the band (FM1, ~M2 or AM) using the BAND SELECT switch.

Press and hold down both UP and DOWN PRESET/APT switches for
at least 3 seconds, until “MEMORY” blinks on thetuner/timer display.
The unit starts automatic presetting from the low end of the band.
When 24 FM or 12AM stations have been preset or the high end of
band is reached, automatic presetting stops. “MEMORY” disappears
and the preset number 1 station will be heard.
Select another band and repeat step 2.

Press the UP or DOWN switch to tune in a station.
Press the switch and release it when the frequency starts to change.
The unit automatically stops at the next receivable station. Press the
switch again to continue.
When receiving a station with weak signals, press the switch
repeatedly until the desired frequency is displayed. Each time the
switch is pressed, the frequency changes in 9 kHz steps for AM
and 0.05 MHz steps for FM.
Press the MEMORY switch.

Select the required preset number by pressing the UP or DOWN
PRESET/APT switch, or one of the [1] - [12] switches on the remote
control.

The frequency is replaced by the preset number.
Note:
When the band is selected by the controls on the main unit, be sure the
[1] - [12] switches on the remote control are functioning as preset
function switches (instead of CD 10KEY).
5. Press the MEMORY switch to preset the station.
“MEMORY” disappears and the original display returns.
- If the next step is not taken within 30 seconds in the steps 3-5,
“MEMORY” disappears and the memory operation is cancelled.
Press the MEMORY switch to continue.
6. Repeat steps 1-5, to add more preset stations.
Clearing the memory
1.
Select the band.
2. Select the preset number to be cleared by pressing the UP or DOWN
PRESISf/APT switch or one of the [1] - [12] switches. The preset
number appears.
3. Press the CLEAR switch while the preset number is displayed (within
2 seconds). The preset station will be cleared from the memory, but
the station will still be heard.
Note:
If a new station in the same band is programmed to a preset number
already containing a programmed station, the previously pro-
grammed station will be cleared.
- If the memory contents are lost due to a power failure or other
condition, programme the stations again.
LISTENING TO THE RADIO
1, Select the band or select “TUNER”.
2. Select the desired preset number by pressing the UP or DOWP.–
PRES~/APT switch, or one of the [1] - [12] switches on the remote
control.
The frequency is replaced by the preset number on the display. After
2 seconds, the preset number is replaced by the received station
frequency.
If a preset number which has not been programmed is selected,
“P - -“ appears for about 2 seconds and the previous station is
selected.
“STEREO” appears when an FM stereo broadcast is received.
FM MODE switch
If the signals from an FM stereo station are weak and reception is poor,
press the FM MODE switch tochangetomonaural reception, (“STEREO”
is replaced by “MONO” in the display.)
If a station is programmed while in the monaural mode, that station will
be received in MONO when the preset number for that station is
selected.
LISTENING TO RECORDS OR VIDEO SOURCES—
Press the PHONO or VIDEO function switch, and listen to the sound.
