Adjusting the Preload
Preparations for adjusting the preload are the same as for checking the
preload.
The preload is changed as follows:
in Master
pro
balances with the brass system, preload weights are removed
from or added to the end of the lever.
in Master
pro
balances with the small single-casting block system, preload
weights (arrow) are removed from or added to the lever over the magnet.
in Master
pro
balances with the large single-casting block system, preload
weights are removed or added (rough adjustment) or position of the
preload weight on the lever is moved (fine adjustment) - to do this, you will
need to loosen the set screw.
The balance remains loaded with the preload test weight during this proce-
dure.
Check the display of the PSION server/PC or the digital voltmeter after
each change.
If the preload voltage/preload weight value is within the tolerance range,
tighten down the set screw.
Note: After you adjust the preload, the off-center load, linearity and span must be
checked and, if necessary, adjusted.
