      If the LCD display on your Schumacher Battery Charger shows CHARGE ABORTED, BAD BATTERY, and beeps four times, it means the battery is defective and won't accept a charge, there is a weak or sulfated plate in the battery, or the battery voltage is wrong. Have the battery checked or verify the CHARGE VOLTAGE setting on the charger to make sure it matches the battery being charged.

      If a battery is connected to the Schumacher Battery Charger, but the LCD display shows CONNECT BATTERY, the battery clamps are not making a good connection, the battery connections are reversed, or the battery is severely discharged. Check for a poor connection to the battery and/or frame, ensure connection points are clean, and rock the clamps back and forth for a better connection. Unplug the charger and reverse the clamps if the battery connections are reversed. If your battery does not have 0.2V, you must press and hold the CHARGE ON/OFF button for five seconds to get the charge cycle started.

      If the Schumacher Battery Charger is making an audible clicking sound, the circuit breaker is cycling or the battery is severely discharged, but otherwise it is a good battery. Diagnose and correct the shorted condition, or unplug anything else that is on the same AC line as the INC-800A. Allow charging to continue until the battery has a chance to recover sufficiently to accept a charge. If more than 20 minutes, stop charging and discard the battery.

      If the LCD display on your Schumacher Battery Charger shows BAD BATTERY and beeps four times, then shows CONNECT BATTERY, it means the battery is bad or sulfated. In the case of a severely discharged battery, the charger will go into abort mode. If, after the output turns off, the battery voltage drops to under 0.2 volts, the charger will reset to the default settings and the display will show 12V FAST on the top line and CONNECT BATTERY on the bottom line.

      If there is nothing showing on the digital display of your Schumacher Battery Charger, the charger is not plugged in, there is no power at the receptacle, or there is a poor electrical connection. Plug the charger into an AC outlet. Check for an open fuse or circuit breaker supplying the AC outlet. Check the power cord or extension cord for a loose fitting plug.
