Overview

The Sea Eagle PackFish7™ is a portable, inflatable fishing boat designed for individual use. It is constructed from durable inflatable material, featuring multiple air chambers for safety and rigidity. The boat is designed for low-pressure inflation and is not compatible with high-pressure electric pumps or air compressors intended for tire inflation.

Function Description:

The PackFish7™ serves as a compact and lightweight fishing vessel, ideal for anglers seeking a portable and easy-to-deploy option. It allows for solo fishing excursions in various water conditions, offering stability and convenience. The boat is equipped with features to enhance the fishing experience, such as rod holders, storage bags, and a comfortable inflatable seat. While rated for a 1 hp motor by the NMMA, there is currently no provision for a motor mount.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Inflation System: Features two main air chambers (a safety chamber and a main chamber) with recessed valves, and two additional valves for the inflatable seat.
  • Valve Type: Utilizes a hook-in style recessed valve adapter for the boat's main chambers and push-in or screw-in adapters for the seat valves.
  • Inflation Pressure: Designed for low-pressure inflation; high-pressure pumps are not recommended.
  • Motor Rating: Rated for use with a 1 hp motor by the NMMA, though no motor mount is currently available.
  • Oars: Includes two-part oars with blades, shafts, and retainer rings. The left oar has the Sea Eagle logo top left, and the right oar has it top right.
  • Storage: Folds down compactly for storage in an included backpack bag.
  • Tracking: Equipped with four tracking strips on the bottom to help maintain course.

Usage Features:

  • Portability: The boat is designed for easy transport, folding into a backpack-style bag. Optional backpack transport straps allow for carrying while inflated.
  • Quick Setup: Inflation involves unfolding the boat, inflating the safety chamber first, then the main chamber, and finally the inflatable seat. The foot pump provided includes various adapters for different valve types.
  • Seating: Comes with a Deluxe Inflatable Seat (DKSG) that has two cushion bladders and adjustable inflation for comfort and legroom.
  • Fishing Amenities:
    • Rod Holders: Two dedicated rod holders are located in the front of the boat.
    • Fishing Rod/Oar Straps: Hook & loop closure straps on the boat sides can secure two fishing rods or oars.
    • Storage Bags: Includes an Angler Bag with a cup holder, a Tool Strap, and a Boat Bag Stow Pocket behind the seat for gear.
  • Paddling: Two-part oars are provided for propulsion. The blades are designed to cup water on the power stroke, making pulling against the oars more efficient. Users are advised to check behind them frequently when paddling backward.
  • Safety: The boat incorporates a safety chamber for added buoyancy. Users are strongly advised to wear a USCG approved PFD (life vest) at all times, be aware of local boating rules, and never exceed the certified maximum capacities.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: The boat and accessories should be dried thoroughly before storage to prevent mildew.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry, ventilated, and humidity-controlled area. Avoid excessive heat (attics, metal sheds) and cold temperatures (PVC can become brittle). Rodent-proof storage is recommended.
  • Repair Kit: All Sea Eagle products come with a repair kit including patching material, PVC glue, and a valve tool for minor repairs.
  • Troubleshooting Air Leaks:
    • Visual Inspection: Check for rips, tears, or punctures on the cover and inner bladder.
    • Listening: Listen for escaping air to pinpoint leaks.
    • Soapy Water Test: Inflate the bladder to full pressure, apply a mixture of dishwashing liquid and water to the suspected area; bubbles will indicate a leak.
    • Valve Leaks: Check black valves for debris or dents in the O-ring base. Recessed valves can be tightened with the provided valve tool. Seat valves should be checked for pinched retainer rings or dents.
    • Punctures: Small punctures (less than 1/8") can be repaired with a small drop of glue. Larger punctures require a penny-sized patch.
    • Patching: Patches should be applied to a deflated, clean, and dry surface. Allow 30 minutes for glue to cure before inflating 3/4 full. Heat can be used to soften retainer rings or help patches adhere.
    • Seam Leaks: These are rare; if found, contact Sea Eagle customer service.
  • Tracking Strips: If deformed, they can be reshaped by heating with a hairdryer for 1-3 minutes.

The PackFish7™ is designed for convenience and durability, with a focus on providing a reliable and enjoyable fishing experience for the solo angler.
