8 TROUBLESHOOTING
If faults occur when operating the device, first attempt to remedy them yourself
using the following table. If the fault persists, contact seca Service or an autho-
rized service partner.
Fault Cause Remedy
Scale shows no weight although
there was a load on it
The device is not ready for use Remove transport lock
Scale does not show a plausible
weight value
Before weighing pointer does not read
0
Adjust display
Force shunt: scale is e.g. touching a
wall, or patient is supporting his/her
weight against the wall
Move scale away from wall
Use transport lock as wall spacer
Ask patient to stand on the scale un-
aided
9 SERVICING
9.1 Non-verified scales
The product needs to be set up carefully and serviced regularly. Depending on
how frequently the product is used, seca recommends servicing at intervals of 3
to 5 years.

Have servicing and repairs carried out exclusively by seca Service
or an authorized service partner.

9.2 Verified scales

Faulty measurements as a result of verification being performed poorly
or not at all
Have verification performed only by authorized persons.
Always have verification performed if one or more quality seals are
damaged.
