Smartcard
If required by your Network Operator, the radio may need to be fitted with a smartcard to enable
access to the network.
If a smartcard is not fitted to the radio, it must be fitted with a 'dummy' smartcard (5). The radio is
supplied with a dummy smartcard fitted.
Maintenance checks
Perform the following checks:
Mod states 1-3
Check that a smartcard or dummy smartcard (6) is fitted. The radio must not be operated
without a smartcard or dummy smartcard fitted.
Check that the smartcard holder retainer is locked and secure.
Ensure that a Poron pad is fitted to the top of the smartcard holder retainer. Replace the pad
(part no. 700-00884) if worn or damaged.
Mod state 4 onwards
Check that the smartcard holder retainer is locked and secure.
Inspect the smartcard cover for signs of damage on the seal edges.
Ensure that the smartcard cover (5) is fitted and seated correctly (fully sealing the smartcard
compartment). The smartcard cover must be refitted correctly to retain the radio's IP rating.
