The SET-2090 is a 32-channel pass-through experimental card designed for NI-SLSC systems. Its primary function is to transmit input signals directly to the output in its standard configuration. However, it offers extensive configurability, allowing customers to test, condition, or measure input signals in various ways. This includes the use of inductors, filters, pull-up, or pull-down resistors, making it a versatile tool for different applications.
The SET-2090 is designed for use in industrial locations. To ensure optimal performance and compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) guidelines, it is crucial to operate the product only with shielded cables and accessories. The length of any cable attached to connectors J1 and J2 must not exceed 3 meters (10 feet). This helps minimize interference with radio and television reception and prevents unacceptable performance degradation.
The device features two front panel connectors, J1 and J2, each providing 16 differential input channels (P0.0 to P3.3 on J1 and P4.0 to P7.3 on J2). Each connector also includes dedicated ground pins and spare pins. The "Ref." signal from the internal block diagram is connected to corresponding Reference Signals on the front connector. There are four Reference Signals available per connector, mapping to four differential signals. For instance, "Ref." from channel "P0.0" is connected to "Ref_0" on J1, shared across channels P0.0 to P0.3. All voltages are relative to GND unless otherwise specified.
The XJ2 connector on the rear provides input/output connections for all 32 channels, with each differential pair having a corresponding positive and negative pin. Ground connections are also available on this connector. The XJ3 connector on the rear provides access to instrument and fault signals, including Instrument_0+, Instrument_0-, Instrument_1+, Instrument_1-, Fault_D, Fault_C, Fault_B, and Fault_A.
The SET-2090 includes LED indicators for monitoring its status and for error handling:
It is important to note that the SET-2090 should not be operated in a manner not specified in this document. Misuse can lead to hazards and compromise the safety protection built into the product. If the product is damaged, it should be returned for repair. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by SET GmbH could void the authority to operate the device under local regulatory rules. The device fulfills the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU regarding the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Before beginning, users should complete the Software and Hardware installation procedures applicable to their specific application. The guidelines in this document are specific to the SET-2090, and users should refer to the documentation of other system components to determine the safety and EMC ratings for the entire system.
