REMOTE
SCALE* < 3C
* For a scale with a remote base in a computer driven system, you may want the
remote scale command to remain as “E”. Since “E” has been redefined for exponen-
tial notation input in software releases v3.2 and higher, this could cause a conflict.
The following setup allows the user to redefine “E” back to the remote scale com-
mand. If “E” is redefined to the remote scale command, exponential entry is not
possible. The setup default is to use "E" as the command for exponential notation.
To redefine the command used for accessing the remote scale follow this procedure:
1. Enter — 19998 and press the setup/cal key.
2. The scale will display "SCI E". To use "E" as the command for exponential
notation, press setup/cal . To use "E" as the command for the remote scale, press
clear .
3. The scale will display "rS E". To use the "E" command for the remote scale
command, press setup/cal . To exit without altering the use of the "E" command,
press the clear key.
