Overview

This document is an owner's guide for the Shark Cordless Detect Pro™ Vacuum, covering the IW1000 Series and IW3000 Series. It provides essential information on the vacuum's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description:

The Shark Cordless Detect Pro™ Vacuum is a household cleaning appliance designed for dry vacuuming. It consists of a motorized nozzle, wand, and handheld vacuum, which can be used together as an upright vacuum or separately for above-floor cleaning. The IW3000 Series features an auto-empty dock and odor neutralizing technology, while the IW1000 Series is a non-auto-empty model. The vacuum is powered by a Li-ion battery, offering cordless operation.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Voltage: 18V
  • Battery: Li-ion rechargeable and recyclable battery. Full charge takes approximately 5 hours.
  • Runtime: Up to 40 minutes on a full charge (may vary based on model and usage).
  • Odor Neutralizer Cartridge (IW3000 Series):
    • Product Name: Odor Neutralizer Cartridge
    • Manufacturer: Shark Ninja 89 A Street, Needham, MA 02494
    • Weight: 17.4g / 0.61oz
    • Ingredients: Solid SM composite polymer C17 + fragrance SE 272235
    • Replacement: Recommended every 6 months for optimal performance.

Usage Features:

  • Assembly:
    • IW3000 Series (Auto-Empty Assembly): Slide the wand onto the floor nozzle, then align and slide the hand vacuum onto the wand. The dock is assembled by sliding the charging post into its slot. The power cord connects the dock to a wall outlet. A crevice tool accessory can be stored on the dock. Odor neutralizing cartridge installation is also part of the setup.
    • IW1000 Series (Non-Auto-Empty Assembly): Similar to the IW3000, slide the wand onto the floor nozzle, then align and slide the hand vacuum onto the wand.
  • Power and Cleaning Modes:
    • The vacuum is turned on/off via a button on the UI Screen.
    • Modes include ECO, AUTO, and BOOST, selected via a mode selection button.
  • Upright Use: The nozzle locks for free-standing storage when the hand vac is detached. Disengage the lock by placing a foot on the nozzle to begin floor cleaning.
  • Clean Indicator: An LED light indicates debris detection. Blue signifies normal suction, red indicates heavy debris (suction increases), and amber means debris is being removed.
  • Edge Indicator: Headlights illuminate on one side when an edge is detected, focusing on targeted debris.
  • Above-Floor Cleaning:
    • With Hand Vacuum: Detach the hand vacuum from the wand by pressing the front latch release button. Accessories can be attached to the hand vacuum's nozzle opening.
    • With Wand: Detach the floor nozzle from the wand by stepping on the nozzle and pressing the nozzle release button. The wand can then be used with accessories for above-floor cleaning.
  • Battery Charging and Indicators:
    • Charging while in Storage Mode (IW3000 Series): Place the unit on the dock, ensuring contacts align.
    • Charging while in Handheld Vacuum (IW1000 Series): Connect the charger directly to the port below the handle.
    • Charging out of the Vacuum (IW1000 Series): Remove the battery by pressing the Battery Release Button, then plug the charger into the battery's charging port.
    • LED Indicators: Pulse yellow (0-75% charge), pulse green (75-100% charge), solid white (fully charged). LEDs turn off once fully charged.
  • Odor Neutralizer Technology (IW3000 Series):
    • Adjusting Intensity: Flip up the dial handle and rotate the odor dial to adjust intensity (Low to High) or align teal arrows for cartridge access.
    • Cartridge Installation/Replacement: Remove the odor dial, remove the old cartridge (rotate counterclockwise), remove the new cartridge from its bag, install the new cartridge (align yellow arrows, rotate clockwise to lock), then reinstall the dial (align teal arrows, rotate counterclockwise to engage intensity setting).
    • Quiet Mode (IW3000 Series): Press the moon icon button on the dock to initiate Quiet Mode, allowing the vacuum to dock without auto-evacuation.

Maintenance Features:

  • Dust Cup Emptying:
    • Dock Dust Bin (IW3000 Series): Holds up to 30 days of debris. Empty when the "dust bin full" indicator light comes on. Lift the bin by the handle, hold over trash, and press the release button to open the bottom.

Rinse with water only, air-dry for at least 24 hours. For HEPA filter, rotate cover to unlocked position, pull off cover, lift out filter, rinse, air-dry for up to 48 hours. Reinstall by reversing steps.
    • Auto-Empty Dock Filter (IW3000 Series): Remove Filter Door, tilt and lift off. Remove filter, rinse, air-dry for at least 24 hours. Reinstall.
    • Auto-Empty Exhaust Foam Filter (IW3000 Series): Remove dust bin, vacuum fine debris from surface, lift out foam filter, rinse with water only, air-dry completely.
    • General Filter Care: Rinse with water only, no soap. Allow filters to air-dry completely (24-48 hours) before reinstalling to prevent liquid from entering electrical parts. Clean pre-motor and post-motor filters at least once a month.

  • Sensor Cleaning:
    • DirtDetect Sensor (hand vac nozzle), LightDetect Sensor (top of nozzle), EdgeDetect Sensor (side of nozzle): Turn off power, remove floor nozzle. Gently wipe sensors with a microfiber cloth to remove hair and debris. Reattach floor nozzle.
  • Checking for Blockages:
    • Hand Vacuum: Turn off, remove from wand, check intake openings to dust cup.
    • Wand: Turn off, detach hand vacuum and floor nozzle, check both ends.
    • Floor Nozzle: Turn off, detach wand, press brushroll release button, slide brushroll out, clear blockages from brushroll and nozzle.
