  If your Shark vacuum cleaner is not picking up dirt and has no or light suction, you can try the following: * Check the filters and clean them if necessary. Follow the instructions for rinsing and drying the filters before reinstalling. * Empty the dust cup, as it may be full. * Check the hoses, hose connections, nozzle, and accessories for any blockages and clear them. * Remove any string, carpet fibers, or hair that may be wrapped around the brushroll.

Why does the brushroll on my Shark Rotator NV650 not spin?

  If the Brushroll Indicator Light on the motorized floor nozzle of your Shark vacuum cleaner turns red, it means the brushroll has stopped spinning. Immediately turn off and unplug the vacuum, disconnect the nozzle, and remove any blockages before reconnecting and turning the vacuum back on. With the power on, recline the handle, which will automatically turn on the brushroll. Make sure the surface selector is NOT set to Hard Floor.

  If your Shark vacuum cleaner lifts area rugs, turn off the unit to disengage the brushroll. Move the switch to the Hard Floor setting for suction-only cleaning, and turn the unit back on. Be cautious when vacuuming area rugs or rugs with delicately sewn edges, as the suction is powerful.

  If your Shark vacuum cleaner overheats, the thermostat will automatically turn off the motor. To restart: 1. Turn the vacuum off and unplug it. 2. Empty the dust cup and clean the filters. 3. Check for blockages in the hoses, accessories, and inlet openings. 4. Allow the unit to cool for at least 60 minutes. 5. Plug in the vacuum and turn it on. If the hose is not fully connected to the pod, it can cause a poor electrical connection, turning the vacuum off. To resolve this: 1. Turn the vacuum off and unplug it. 2. Empty the dust cup and clean the filters. 3. Check for blockages in the hose, wand, nozzle, accessories, and inlet openings. 4. Remove the cord from the cord hook to see and engage the hose latch. 5.
