2. Th rough a Program
To do th is, simply ass i gn a line numbe r to th e PR IN T # command in yo ur program. You

This com mand a ll ows the same formats as P RI NT # . The dif f erence is t hat INPU T# transfcrs
dat a from ta pe to the co mp uter. (PRINT# transfers data from the comp ute r to tape ). Yo u can
use the I NPUT # command ma nually or asp.a rt of a pro gram . Remember to pre par e the ta pe
re cor de r be fo re you begin 10 use th is com ma nd.

5. Editing Programs (MERGE)
T he MERGE command a ll ows you to s to re two programs in the computer n1 e mo ry at t he same
t ime. For example, let's as.sume t he comp ut er memory contain s the following p ro gram:

20 : PR I NT " E NTER METHOD ?"
30: IN PUT A

point yo u suddenly remember that yo u rn ay ha ve a similar program port ion on tape und er
the fil ename " DE Pl" . You \ 't1 ill, of course , want to see if th is program h as sectio ns useful in the
program y
ou a:re currentl y constr u ct in g. The fi tst step is to fi nd t he ta pe with DEP1 on it. Cue
the tape to th e place at which "DEPl" start s.
