Windbreak
The windbreak function allows you to reduce
annoying noise from strong winds when
recording.

Set the camcorder to TAPE-CAMERA
mode.
Press the MENU/DISPLAY button until
the menu screen appears.
Select L_, then press _,_ on the Opera-
tion button. Select "WIND" (_), then
press _ (_2_).
4 Press • or _-/ml to select"ON", then
press _.
5 Press the MENU/DISPLAY button to
turn off the menu screen.
To cancel Windbreak
Select "OFF" in step 4 above.
Note:
• Keep the windbreak function off during normal
recording. If it is left on, the recorded audio may
sound somewhat muffled when played back.
Setting the Confirmation
Sounds
A confirmation sound is made when you turn
on or off the Power switch, press the REC
START/STOP button, or perform other desig-
nated operations. Use the procedure below to
change the type of sound or to turn off the
confirmation sounds altogether.
Type of Confirmation Sound
Settings
CHIME: A chiming sound is made.
BEEP: An electronic beeping sound is made.
OFF: No confirmation sound is made.
1 Press the MENU/DISPLAY button until
the menu screen appears.
2 Select I:TC,then press _,_ on the
Operation button. Select "SOUND" (_),
then press _ (_2_).

4 Press the MENU/DISPLAY button to
turn off the menu screen.
Note:
• If "OFF" is selected, the sound effect of a
camera shutter closing in PHOTO SHOT mode
and CARD-CAMERA mode will also be turned
off.
