      If the remote control for your Sharp Camcorder isn't working, first ensure that the REMOTE menu item is set to 'ON'. Replace the remote control battery. Make sure you are within the operating range of the remote. Protect the remote sensor from intense daylight, and remove any obstacles between the remote control and the camcorder's remote sensor.

Also, auto focus may struggle with subjects that have little contrast in brightness or are full of horizontal or vertical stripes, in which case you should focus manually.
