19. CHECKING THE GEAR BACKLASH ON THE INPUT SHAFT
This is the procedure to check the gear backlash on the input sha:
1. Put the elevator out of order
2. Put the counterweight on support to prevent the output sha from moving when releasing the
brake
3. Mechanically release the brake on the input sha
4. Turn the ywheel with small force in one direcon unl you feel resistance
5. Mark the posion on the ywheel at the reference point on the housing
6. Turn the ywheel with small force in the opposite direcon unl you feel resistance
7. Mark the posion on the ywheel at the reference point on the housing used previously
8. Measure the distance between the two markings on the ywheel and compare the value with the
corresponding value in the table 1 below.
