6. Make sure the brake on the input sha is closed.
7. Turn the sheave in one direcon unl you feel resistance and set the dial indicator to 0.
8. Turn the sheave in the opposite direcon unl you feel the resistance and read the value on the
dial indicator.
9. If the measured value is equal or exceeds the maximum value in the table 2 keep the elevator out
of service since the gearbox needs to be replaced.
