6. Make sure the brake on the input sha is closed.
7. Turn the sheave in one direcon unl you feel resistance and set the dial indicator to 0.
8. Turn the sheave in the opposite direcon unl you feel the resistance and read the value on the
dial indicator.
9. If the measured value is equal or exceeds the maximum value in the table 2 keep the elevator out
of service since the gearbox needs to be replaced.
