6. Electrics
i) Handset
The handset is designed to be used by the carer only. The mattress platform can be
tilted from either the head or foot end and the cot height is adjustable. To adjust the
position of the cot, depress the relevant button until the desired point has been
reached and then release the button.
Head End Tilt - To raise the head end depress
To lower the head end depress
Foot End Tilt - To raise the foot end depress
To lower the foot end depress
Cot Height - To raise the cot depress
To lower the cot depress
Note: When putting the mattress platform into tilt it is only possible to
have one end in tilt at any one time. Before raising one end ensure that
the opposite end is fully lowered.
ii) Battery Backup
A battery backup feature will automatically be engaged when the bed is disconnected
from the mains supply. This allows emergency or temporary operation of the cot for a
limited period but will vary depending on the features used. If operated using the
battery backup an alarm will sound when the battery level becomes low.
The cot should remain connected to the mains supply at all times for normal use, to
ensure that the batteries remain fully charged. This will also prolong the life of the
batteries.
