fMRI User Guide
6.2 Running the study
1. Set up patient in the head coil.
2. Run a localizer scan from Exam Explorer->Siemens->Head->clinical libraries->general->localizer
3. Then run the MPRAGE scan (t1_mpr_ns_sag_p2_iso) to get an anatomical reference scan. This sequence can be
found under Exam Explorer->Siemens->Head->advanced applications->bold-imaging. Use sagittal orientation
for the scan volume, and position the volume such that the whole brain is covered. See Figure 12 for reference.
Figure 12. Adjusting scan plane for the anatomical reference T1-weighted MPRAGE scan.
4. Load the ep2d_pace_dynt_moco protocol, found under Exam Explorer->Siemens->Head->advanced
applications->bold-imaging. Open the protocol, and confirm the following parameters on the BOLD card:
number of measurements = 60, paradigm size = 20, first 10 measurements = Baseline, next 10 measurements
= Active (see Figure 13). Position the scan plane as shown in Figure 14.
