5 Hardware installation
There are various possible installation scenarios. Namely:
⚫ Installation of NK82xx in existing cabinets.
a. DIN-rail mounting (typical) in plastic housing.
b. Mounting of the NK823x board in the control unit housing using card holders
and the NE8001 mounting kit. Note that the NKA8011-A1 mounting plate is
required for this mounting option.
⚫ Installation of a complete NE8001 cabinet including the NK823x unit.
Environmental requirements
The NK82xx units should always be installed in a protective housing, away from
dust, high temperature and humidity, vibrations and impacts.
Conditions and power supply should match the specific requirements given in the
Technical Data section on the specific NK82xx model datasheet.
Network requirements
⚫ Ethernet IEEE 802.3, 10Base-T (100Base-T also possible for NK823x), RJ-45
connection
⚫ Fixed IP address (DHCP not supported)
⚫ Stable network with guaranteed transmission characteristics (no downtime for
maintenance, predictable network load).
For the special mounting kits, refer to the NK8000 datasheets.
5.1 NE8001 housing solution for NK823x
The NE8001 cabinet offers a compact and convenient housing solution for the
NK823x Ethernet Ports. The metallic cabinet allows for an easy wall-mounting. It
includes a DIN rail and a prewired power supply for the NK823x unit and local I/O.
5.1.1 NE8001 hardware requirements
Environmental requirements
The cabinets should always be installed in a clean and safe environment, away
from dust, high temperature and humidity, vibrations and impacts. Conditions and
power supply should match the specific requirements given in the Technical data
section of the NK8000 datasheet.
