How do I label the keys on my optiPoint?
Regarding optiPoint 420 S:
• Normally, the appropriate labels will automatically be displayed.
• To modify the self labelling keys, please refer to the information in the com-
prehensive user manual.
Regarding optiPoint 410 S:
• Manually with the label strips supplied.
• Via the Internet:
You will find the "Online Key Labelling Tool" along with the user interface un-
der http://www.siemens.com/hipath
Æ "Downloads" Æ "Software".
Place the labeled strips on the corresponding keypad on
your optiPoint, and place the transparent cover (matt side
up) on top.

Echo Effect
In some cases, your voice may echo during a call. This is not due to any design
defect or other fault with your IP telephone. It is usually caused by the equip-
ment used by the other party. For example, if the echo occurs during a telecon-
ference, it may well be that the loudspeakers and microphones need to be repo-
sitioned.
User Password
You can protect the user settings with a password (path: Setup, Local func-
tions, User password).
