Procedure after removing or after damage to a C-PLUG
After inserting a C-PLUG, the configuration data of the SCALANCE S device is copied to the
C-PLUG and deleted from the internal non-volatile memory of the SCALANCE S device.
After removing a C-PLUG or if a C-PLUG is damaged, there is therefore no configuration
data available. To return the SCALANCE S to operation either download the required
configuration to the SCALANCE S or insert a C-PLUG with the required configuration in the
SCALANCE S.
Inserting a C-PLUG that does not contain the configuration of a compatible device type,
removing the C-PLUG during operation, or general malfunctions of the C-PLUG are
indicated by the diagnostics mechanisms of the end device (fault display red).
