FOUNDATION Fieldbus connection
The 2-pin screw terminal for the FOUNDATION Fieldbus connection is located on the Compact
FF Link behind the front door at the top . The connections have the following meaning:

Bus termination for the FF segment when using active field distributors
When using active field distributors, the bus is terminated automatically at the last bus node
(automatic bus termination).
Procedure
Connect the FOUNDATION Fieldbus as follows:
1. Strip the insulation from the bus cable as shown in the figure and push the protective braided
shield back over the insulation.

2. Clamp the protective braided shield of the bus cable under the strain relief and screw the
stain relief into place.
3. Fasten the wires of the bus cable in the P+ and P- screw terminals. Make sure that you do
not reverse the polarity of the wires (brown = plus, blue = minus).
