3.1 Compact FF Link
Functions
● Interface module (DPV1 slave) on the higher-level DP master system (in HW Config:
IM 655‑5 FF)
● Field device coupler for a lower-level FF bus system (in HW Config: Field Device Coupler)
● FF Link master functionality
● Link Active Scheduler (LAS) for the central communication control of the distributed
communication of the FF segment.
Properties
● Conversion of physical transmission characteristics to symmetrical physical bus
characteristics according to IEC 61784‑1 CP 1/1
● Integrated power supply for FF (Power Conditioner)
● Connection of up to 31 FF devices, max. current consumption of all components 500 mA
● Automatic bus termination enables easy commissioning
● Transmission rates:
– On the DP master system: 9.6 kbps to 12 Mbps
– On the FF segment: 31.25 kbps
● Support of system modifications during operation
– In non-redundant mode
– In redundancy mode
● Diagnostics via LEDs and the user program
● Extended environmental conditions
