1.1 Overview
This manual uses an example to demonstrate how to commission a standard drive
application comprising a drive configuration with SINAMICS S110, an SMI motor, and the
STARTER commissioning tool.
1.2 Components
SINAMICS S110 is a modular system that enables you to assemble your drive unit.
The key components of the SINAMICS modular system are:
● Control Unit CU305
● Power Module (line infeed, DC link, and power unit)
● Sensor Module (e.g. encoder)
● SMI motors
