Connecting the power supply
CAUTION
► Before connecting the device, compare the connection data on the
nameplate of the mains adapter (voltage and frequency) with those of your
mains supply. This data must agree so that the device is not damaged.
♦ Connect the supplied mains adapter to the mains adapter connection
r
and to a mains socket. The device is now in standby mode.
Inserting batteries
NOTE
► The device can be operated either with batteries or via the mains power
connection.
► Use 6 x 1.5V type C/Baby/LR14 batteries (not supplied) for battery
operation.
► When the battery level is low, you will hear a beep and the display

shows Battery low.
♦ Open the battery compartment
e on the rear of the device by turning
the two catches w of the battery compartment e anticlockwise until the
battery compartment e can be opened. Note also the labels OPEN and
CLOSE with the corresponding arrows on the catches w of the battery
compartment e.
♦ Insert 6 x 1.5V type C/Baby/LR14 batteries (not included) into the battery
compartment
e. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment e as
shown on the polarity diagram. Make sure that the strip is placed under the
batteries so that they can be easily removed again.
♦ Close the battery compartment
e on the rear of the device and turn the
two catches w of the battery compartment e clockwise into the locked
position. Note also the labels OPEN and CLOSE with the corresponding
arrows on the catches w of the battery compartment e.
Aerial
♦ Screw the screw aerial i into the aerial holder.
