8.2 Putting the device into
operation and switch-
ing it off
1. Insert the mains plug9 into a mains
socket corresponding to the technical
specifications.
2. Switch on the power supply by setting
the on/off switch7 on the back of the
tower heater4 to I. An audio signal
sounds. The device is now ready to use.
3. Press the 27 button to switch on the
device from standby mode. An audio
signal sounds. The device starts in fan
mode. The current temperature is shown
in the display2.
4. Press the 27 button. An audio signal
sounds. After 30 seconds, the device
switches to standby mode.
NOTE: if the device is disconnected from
the mains power supply, the selected set-
tings are lost. To disconnect from the mains
power supply, set the on/off switch7 to O
or pull the mains plug9 out of the wall sock-
et.
5. Turn off the power supply by setting the
on/off switch7 to O.
8.3 Fan operation
You can use the device as a fan without the
heating function.
1. Press the 27 button to switch on the
device from standby mode.
2. If necessary, press the button 22 re-
peatedly until L0 is shown in the dis-
play2. The device is in fan mode.
NOTE: you can also start the fan function
on the device by pressing the –14 button.
8.4 Swivel function
(70°oscillation)
The device has a swivel function.
It causes the device to swivel back and forth,
thus distributing the flowing air more evenly
in the room. The function can be switched on
or off at any time while the device is in use.
• Switch on the swivel function by press-
ing the 26 button for the swivel func-
tion while the device is switched on.
OSC appears in the display2.
• Switch off the swivel function by press-
ing the 26 button again. OSC disap-
pears from the display2.
8.5 Selecting the heat out-
put
Use the 22 button to choose between two
heat output levels:
• Press the 22 button repeatedly until
the desired heat output level L1 or L2 is
shown in the display2.
• Press the 22 button during operation
to show the selected heat output level in
the display2.
8.6 ECO mode
In energy-saving ECO mode, the device au-
tomatically regulates the room temperature
to 22 °C.
- As soon as the room temperature drops
below 18 °C, the device automatically
activates its highest heating level.
- If the room temperature is between
18 °C and 22 °C, the device automati-
cally switches to the ECO heating
mode. That is lower than heating level
L1.
L1 Device operates at 1,000 watt
L2 Device operates at 2,000 watt
