4.9 Work Instructions
Driving speed
TheX-Presscanbedrivenatspeedsofup
to12km/h.
Thisdependsontheeldconditions(type
ofsoil,surfacetrash,etc.).
Drivemoreslowlyiftheconditionsaredif-
cultorarmernishisrequired.
Turning:
Beforeturning,onmachinestted
with a standard DD700 roll, the
machine should be eased out of
workontotherearrollwhiledriving
andshouldbeeasedbackintowork
oncetheturnhasbeencompleted.
OnmachinesttedwithaDDLight
rollthemachineshouldbeeased
out of work onto the transport
wheels before turning. Under no
circumstancesshouldtheDDLight
rollbeincontactwiththesoilwhilst
turningthemachine.
4.10 Checks
The working quality depends on the
adjustmentsandchecksmadepriortoand
duringwork,aswellasonregularservicing
andmaintenanceofthemachine.
Before beginning work it is therefore
important to carry out any necessary
servicingandtolubricatethemachineas
required.
Checks prior to, and during
work:
•Isthemachinecorrectlyhitchedupandthe
couplingdevicelocked?
•Havethehydrauliclinesbeenconnected
accordingtothecolourcoding?
•Isthemachineinaleveloperatingposition
andtheworkingdepthsetcorrectly?

•Arethediscsandothercultivationtoolsin
aserviceablecondition?
•Arethescrapersstilloperable,sothatthe
rollsdonotjam?
4.8 Adjusting Disc Frame
Depth
Adjustment of the disc frame depth is
achievedbylengtheningorshorteningthe
adjusters as required in combination with
raisingorloweringthediscframesrelative
to the DD roller by adding or removing
drawbar shims (for example, to increase
discdepthremovedrawbarshimsandadjust
theturnbuckleasrequired).Onceset,the
adjustersshouldbelockedbyaddingshims
tothelowerendthreadandtightening.
Tochangethesettingsitisadvisabletolift
thediscframesjustclearofthegroundso
thattheadjusterscanbelengthenedenough
tottheamountofshimsrequired.When
theshimshavebeenttedthemachinecan
belowered,makingiteasiertotightenthe
adjusteragainsttheshims.
Parking the Machine
In order to avoid damage as a result of
moisture,themachineshouldbeparked,if
possible,indoorsorundercover.
Whenmanoeuvringthemachine,
payattentiontoyoursurroundings.
Ensurethatnobody(children!)is
inthemanoeuvringarea.
•Parkthemachineonlevelandsolidground.
•Fitwheelchocks.
•Withthemachineraisedmovetheparking
standsintoposition.
•Lowerthemachineontotheparkingstands
ensuringthatitisstable.
•Removethedrawbarpinanddriveforward
slowlyuntilhitchisclearoftractordrawbar.
•Lowerthedrawbartotheground.
•Switchoffthetractor.
•Disconnecthydrauliclinesfromthetractor.
