Overview

This document provides a comprehensive guide for the LAGO EV electric storage water heater, covering its function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The LAGO EV electric storage water heater is designed to provide hot water for domestic use. It features a vitrified interior tank, which offers high protection against corrosion and electrolytic reactions, extending the tank's lifespan. This vitrification also ensures high resistance to chemical reactions caused by soluble salts in the water and does not affect the taste or purity of the water. An internal magnesium anode further enhances corrosion resistance by attracting dissolved salts. The appliance utilizes CFC-free polyurethane foam insulation between the tank and the outer shell, reducing heat loss and ensuring energy efficiency. The exterior surface is painted with a highly resistant material to withstand harsh external conditions while maintaining its aesthetic appearance.

Important Technical Specifications

The LAGO EV series includes models with different capacities: 50L, 80L, and 100L. All models are designed for vertical-horizontal installation.

Common Specifications for all models (50L, 80L, 100L):

  • Power (W): 1600
  • Noise Level (L): 15dB
  • Maximum Pressure (MPa): 0.75
  • Maximum Temperature (°C): 75
  • Minimum Temperature (°C): 30
  • Degree of Electrical Protection: IP24
  • Nominal Current (A): 7
  • Voltage Nominal (V): 220-240
  • Frequency (HZ): 50/60
  • Installation: Wall (Mural)

Model-Specific Specifications:

Model Code Q (Annual Consumption) (kWh) Πwh Equivalent Capacity at 40°C (L) Class Profile of Charge Weight when empty (KG)
LAGO EV 50 8115610 1428 36% 69 C M 19.5
LAGO EV 80 8115611 1432 36% 110 C M 26.5
LAGO EV 100 8115612 1419 36.2% 154 C M 31.5

The appliance is equipped with a dual safety thermostat in compliance with European standards. It also features a safety valve with a pressure range of 0.75 MPa (7.5 Bar).

Usage Features

Installation: Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel. The appliance should be mounted securely to a wall capable of bearing its weight using the provided anchors. Dielectric unions must be installed to ensure the warranty remains valid. The water inlet is marked blue for cold water, and the outlet is marked red for hot water. It is recommended to install the water heater near a hot water tap and a drain to facilitate maintenance. A pressure reducer is necessary if the mains water pressure exceeds 3 bar.

Electrical Connection: Before connecting to the power supply, ensure the appliance is completely filled with water to prevent damage to the heating element. The electrical connection requires a bipolar switch (EN standards, at least 3mm open contact, preferably with fuses) to disconnect the appliance. The voltage of the mains must match the appliance's specifications. The brown and blue cables connect to the thermostat terminals (L1 and L2), and the yellow/green cable connects to the earth terminal.

Operation:

  • Switching On: Once correctly installed and filled with water, the appliance can be switched on. The pilot light indicates when the heating element is active.
  • Temperature Adjustment: The thermostat allows users to adjust the water temperature to optimize energy consumption and comfort. It is advisable to maintain the water temperature above 50°C to prevent legionella.
  • Safety Features: The dual safety thermostat intervenes if the water overheats abnormally, automatically cutting off power to the heating element. A small button will pop out, which can be reset using a pointed object.
  • Emptying: For prolonged absences or to prevent freezing, the water heater should be completely emptied. This involves disconnecting the power, ensuring the water is not too hot (by mixing with cold water if necessary), setting the safety valve lever to the emptying position, and connecting the valve to a wastewater pipe.

Prohibitions:

  • Children under 8 years old are not allowed to use the appliance. Children over 8 years old and individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities may use it only under supervision and after receiving instructions on safe use.
  • Children should not play with the appliance.
  • Do not touch the appliance with bare feet or wet body parts.
  • Do not perform technical interventions or cleaning without disconnecting the appliance from the mains power supply.
  • Do not modify safety or regulation devices without manufacturer authorization.
  • Do not pull, detach, or twist electrical cables.
  • Do not expose the appliance to atmospheric agents; it is designed for sheltered use.
  • Do not disconnect the mains power supply if the outdoor temperature could drop below zero (risk of freezing).
  • Do not dispose of packaging material in the environment; it must be recycled according to local laws.

Maintenance Features

Maintenance and repairs must be performed by qualified and authorized personnel using original spare parts. Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply before any maintenance.

  • Manual Thermostat Reset: If the thermostat's safety trips, disconnect the power, remove the protective cover, and reset it by pressing the popped-out button with a thin, pointed object.
  • Magnesium Anode Inspection: The magnesium anode protects against corrosion. Its condition should be checked annually. In areas with hard water, annual replacement may be required, and proof of replacement might be necessary for warranty validity. Damage from excessive anode wear is not covered by the warranty.
  • Cleaning: To ensure efficient operation and low energy consumption, the heating element should be descaled regularly. The frequency depends on water hardness. Empty the water heater, remove the plate, and clean any limescale deposits without damaging the element.
  • External Cleaning: Clean the outer shell with a cloth and mild soaps. Avoid organic-based solvents or abrasive products.
  • Safety Valve Check: Regularly check the safety valve to prevent overpressure in the tank and remove any limescale deposits that may have formed.
  • General Notes: Use appropriate tools, always replace sealing rings, and use original spare parts. When replacing the heating element, ensure it is properly housed with sealing rings, the thermostat is correctly connected, pilot terminals are in place, and the tank is full of water before reconnecting power.

Warranty: The 2-year warranty is valid only if the magnesium anode is inspected or replaced annually.
