Hydrostatic Control Dampener Service
Later models and early models equipped with Hydro
Static Dampener Kit 1686670 use a shock absorber (B,
Figure C-25) to dampen the transmission linkage.
If the tractor jerks forward when the ground speed con-
trol lever is moved, the shock absorber may need to be
replaced.
1. See Figure C-25. Remove the hardware securing the
shock absorber (B).
2. Remove the shock absorber (B) and manually pull
the ends. If little resistance is felt, replace it.
